A Whale of a Tale

Whales occupy an outsized place in our imagination. They are mammals, like us, but grand and mysterious, from their enormous size to their social lives to the great depths they swim in. It's whale season in Hawaii. The humpbacks have returned.*

Our social lives bring us to Bacchus to enjoy local brews. Come visit Bryant today and order up a Bikini Blonde Ale; a local favorite that's also served on the whale watches from the Pacific Whale Foundation out of Maui. If you ever get a chance to take one of their trips, you'll be glad you did.

*This is the time of year when the waters around the Hawaiian islands are jokingly referred to as "whale soup." It's true, this time of year (late December through early May) the humpback whales return to the shallow shores off the islands to breed and to calve and nurse their young. The whales are found all over Hawaii, but are concentrated in the area between west Maui and Molokai and Lanai.
