Floating Into October

One of the best things you can do for yourself each day is to enjoy the simple things in life.

At Bacchus those things could include a quick afternoon refreshing beer or cocktail (like $3 Monday Margaritas). Or spending time laughing and learning with new and old friends at our Trivia Night (tonight at 7PM).

Too often, we get wrapped up in what’s next, and the complexity of everything that we forget to slow down and enjoy the simple things. October is here and there's so much happening in the gay community in Honolulu, you should consider stopping for a minute to savor some of Oahu's pleasures. As presidential debates rage and Hurricane Matthew (trivia hint) storms through the Caribbean, we've got to exhale and look around and appreciate what we have.

When is the last time you got wet?

Get your mind out of the gutter! ;-) Make it a rule to get your feet wet a few times every week. Whether it is a walk along the shore; or a dive into or ride on the waves; or a trip on a catamaran (like The Aloha Bears Second Sunday Booze Cruise coming up this weekend).

What're you planning to do for Pride?

October is LGBT History Month - a month-long annual observance of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender history, and the history of the gay rights and related civil rights movements. And since our city's gay pride parade has been moved to October 22nd, there are numerous events happening all through the month starting with National Coming Out Day on October 11th. Check the pride calendar of events.

Bacchus will have a float in the parade and we're welcoming all who want to wear togas and celebrate with us along the parade route.

Pretty soon, the holiday season will be taking over and we'll be in a frenzy to purchase gifts and travel to visit family. October is the time to stop and enjoy what's around us. We encourage you to collect some memories at Bacchus this month before it floats by.
