BOOZE & MUSIC: I Just Want Your Extra Time and Your…

Kiss

Today, we're throwing it back to 1986. Enjoy a delicious tequila drink for $5 and enjoy the music of Lionel Richie, Mike & The Mechanics, Howard Jones, The Bangles, Pet Shop Boys and more.

The best song recorded that year was Kiss. Originally Prince did not intend to record Kiss. It was originally written by him for funk band Mazarati. After putting their unique, minimal twist on the track, Mazarati showed Prince the result...and he stole it back because he loved the reworked version so much.

The song won Prince another Grammy Award for Best R&B Vocal Performance by a Duo or Group, and was nominated for Best R&B Song. The song has become a staple at Prince's concerts and is usually sung partially by the audience.

And here are some other award winning kisses with audience participation:

You don't have to be rich to rule my world…especially at Bacchus — where the men are sexy, there's never a cover and where you can always get a drink for $5 or less.
