Make Me Wanna Scream It’s Five O’Clock Somewhere (or 1999!)

With the sad news of the death of the musician PRINCE, we're adding his songs to our throwback sountrack for today.

Yesterday, the US Treasury announced that President Jackson's mug will be replaced on the $20 with Harriet Tubman. Celebrate with a drink!

Tubman was born a slave around 1822 on Maryland’s Eastern Shore and became a leading abolitionist and suffragette. She struggled financially for much of her life—even being denied pay for some of her Civil War work—and died in New York in 1913.
Jackson was born in the Carolina backwoods in 1767 and became the seventh president of the U.S. from 1829 to 1837. He died in 1845 on his 150-slave plantation in Nashville.

What an Odd Couple. Who would have ever thought of these two people in the same context?

That made us think of other odd pairings, particularly Jacksons. When Michael and Janet created their first duet (and the most expensive video ever made) Scream, their familial similarities were apparent despite their extensive plastic surgeries. But…

…there's another musical Jackson, no relation. A superstar on his own- who has built a fortune with his music. Today, we pair him with Michael & Janet in our Throwback Thursday musical tribute.

It's truly as bizarre as the idea of Andrew and Harriet.

We are speaking of country singer Alan Jackson. His career is defined by his sentimental 9/11 tribute, Where Were You (When the World Stopped Turning), but he scored one of the biggest hits of his career with his duet with Jimmy Buffet on It's Five O'clock Somewhere.

We doubt the three singers ever met or will ever meet, but at least they're contemporaries. Andrew (1767-1845) and Harriet (1822-1913) were barely alive at the same time.

Come listen to some throwback Michael, Janet and Alan today with your contemporaries. Enjoy our $5 tequila Thursday special, too. Get four of them for one twenty dollar bill - the one with Andrew's picture on it. ;-)
