A customer was recently asking about the music we play:
"I know have DJs on Wednesday, Fridays and Saturday nights and other times you play videos.
Q: I've heard such a variety of music at Bacchus – from Frank Sinatra to Nikki Minaj. How do you define the bar's music style?"
A: It's diverse.
Music helps create an atmosphere or vibe. The music at Bacchus reflects how the bartender or DJ is reading the room. We tend to play music with lyrics and trend toward pop music. We throw in a nostalgic playlist once and a while, but that's usually during the daytime or early evening hours.
Don't be surprised if you'll hear music from the 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, 00s and 10s. And, if you'd like to hear a particular song, just let your bartender know, we'll play it for you if we have it.*
We want our customers to let us know what they like. And, as always, we encourage you to be you. Our musical muses can be eclectic. We find inspiration in the lyrics of the song by Cass Elliott (Mama Cass) that encourages us to "make your own kind of music and sing your own special song, even if nobody else sings along." A version you may hear at Bacchus:
The musical types you may hear at Bacchus include: Alternative, Blues, Country, Easy Listening, Hip-Hop & Rap, Jazz, Latin, Metal, Oldies, Pop, R&B & Urban, Rock and Soundtracks.
Bacchus is not a "dance club" and, at night, we want you to feel like you're at a party at your friend's place. We know that our music choices will not please all of our customer's tastes. That's why we provide references and links in our blogs. And, if you're a House music fan, we direct you to one of our favorite song mixers, and birthday celebrant, Michael Rackley. Take a listen to a couple of his recent mixes:

When we find other music mixes and DJs that we think you'll like, we'll connect you to them through our blog. As always, we appreciate your feedback.

*Be mindful that the bartenders can't be running back and forth to play your special songs every 3-4 minutes, requests are best when the crowd is smaller.
