Whatever your political leaning is, we can all agree that everyone will need a stiff drink contemplating the future of our country.
Today, we salute a US president who sported the 'stache of the day, the Walrus Mustache - a somewhat overgrown pornstache.
We're speaking of none other than Teddy Roosevelt.
And if you trivia buffs wonder what alcohol flavors President Teddy savored in his mustache- know that he very famously drank the cocktail of the times. Here's a recipe of that cocktail that you can make at home:
The Mint Julep
- 1.3 oz. Bulleit Bourbon
- 1.5 tsp sugar
- Fresh mint leaves
We insist you only make your mint juleps the way Teddy did: with the freshest mint possible. The rough-riding president's cocktails were always garnished with fresh mint from the White House's herb garden (if it still exists)
