The Sunset

Wednesday means you've made it halfway through the week. Start the weekend early by heading to Bacchus today or tonight for 2-4-1 cocktails and stay tonight for DJ Kuya's killer beats. No cover. Always fun. Just a sunset in paradise...

Solo or with a loved one (or two) ;-)

If we could only control the sun.

The Polynesian mythical hero Maui could. For Maui and his mother the days were too short. For them, there was never enough time to accomplish anything in only one day. Maui wanted to allow his mother to have more daylight to make cloth. He thought that if the Sun were moving slower across the sky, there would be more hours of light in one day.

So, Maui cut off the sacred tresses of his wife, to make a rope that would not burn in the Sun. With his rope he caught the Sun as it was rising and beat it with the magic jawbone of his grandmother. The Sun was so weak after the beating that it could not run but only creep along its course. In this way, sunlight lasted longer, and it was possible to work more during the day.

And sunsets were slower. :-) More time to enjoy the beauty of nature. And, while we don't have a view of the sunset from the lanai at Bacchus, we do have a tasty cocktail called a Sunset.

It may be best enjoyed while watching a Hawaiian sunset, but this tasty cocktail goes down smooth any time of day. Get 2-4-1 today and tonight.
