Getting Wet, Part 3

It's Saturday. You're in Hawaii. Head to the beach or head to the park. Get noticed. Then come to Bacchus and grab a brew or cocktail and enjoy DJ Takai at 10pm. Back to that "get noticed" part...

We're running a 4 part series on swimwear (read the first two installments). And, if you haven't seen them, we want to preface all of our swimwear talk with, "WEAR WHAT YOU WANT." But our recommendations are to break out of your comfort zone and get noticed. One way to do that is to 1. go shorter and, 2. go bright, and…

3. Patterns Work

Most of the swim trunks you wear are probably solid colors, so make a change and play with patterns. Retro/vintage patterns are are cool and trendy. Thick stripes, floral and geometric shapes and textured prints will get you some attention. Remember that when you are wearing swimwear, you aren’t wearing much clothing, so it’s a good idea to make a statement with the little fabric you have on.

Take a peek at this catalog illustration from the 1950s. Seven out of the ten hairless, buff men in the image are wearing sexy patterns.

Do they draw attention to the crotch or not? Well some patterns might....

…and if that's your intention, then YES! GO FOR IT! Other patterns might help distract from love handles or other body insecurities (package too small or too large).

If you're in the market for a great patterned swimsuit, try Frescobol Carioca. The suits are hot and flattering.

If you're in the market for a great time, come to Bacchus today and/or tonight. You'll be glad you did. :-)
