National Coming Out Day was created in 1988 in recognition of the importance—both personal and political—of “coming out.”
The day champions the idea that homophobia thrives in silence, and that the act of making one’s sexual preference known makes it easier for others to do the same. Below are a handful of “coming out” songs that are not only wonderful music, but effective reminders of the internal fear LGBTQ people face before they can find self-acceptance.
At Bacchus we understand that everyone has their own coming out experience and story. We welcome you to share your story with us and create new experiences in the safe space of our bar.
Celebrate all who have come out by coming out to Bacchus today, tonight, or this weekend.
Tito’s cocktails are $6 every Friday and tonight VJ Matt spins DIVAS from 10-2! See you soon!
