Some may read the headline of today’s post (“Free Spirits!”) and think that we’re advertising free liquor! Apologies to them. To find out what we are referring to, read below the pix from yesterday’s Aloha Bears Pre-Cruise meet up.
Being a free spirit is something we’ve all aspired to at some point or another. Marching to the beat of your own drum might take some time, but it’s well worth it when you get there.
We tend to think of a free spirit as a wild and adventurous individual whose fascination with the world is only matched by their often-frustrating flakiness. However, true free spirits are a mass of contradictions—extroverts who love their alone time, hopeless romantics who bounce from partner to partner, and people who, by all accounts, generally defy definition.
Some free spirits can be irresponsible, but that’s not always the case. They are often creative and it’s good for people who are more regimented and inhibited to be around them, giving them a chance to loosen up.
Loosen up today at Bacchus with our not-so-free, but modestly priced “spirits.” Enjoy $4 Margaritas all day and all night AND Stage&Screen extended bonus hours tonight 6PM-Midnight.
A great example of a free spirit in a musical is not-so-trivial Tracy Turnblad in Hairspray! She stands up for her principles no matter what people say. She believes that everybody — either gender, every color, any size — was created equal. And she pursues happiness just where the American musical theater has always promised we'd find it: on the dance floor.
