Today, we’d like to introduce you to a trivial tequila-based cocktail that is fun and delicious and a bit more under the radar than a Margarita.
Remember that all tequila shots are $5 every Thursday at Bacchus!
The Mexican Firing Squad
This is a cocktail with a mysterious past. History indicates that it was likely invented in Mexico City sometime in the early twentieth century. It was first made known to American audiences by globetrotting bon vivant Charles H. Baker, Jr. who encountered it at the bar La Cucaracha in 1937.
Pour 2 oz. tequila + 0.75 oz. lime juice + 0.75 oz. grenadine* + 2 dashes angostura bitters into a shaker. Add ice and shake vigorously. Pour over rocks into a glass, and serve with a lime garnish. Delicious!
Your bartender may even add soda to make it a longer, cooler drink. Come by the bar today and try one out. This afternoon, the Eagles play the Packers at 2:15PM, we’ll be showing the game. Tonight, our Rock·n·Roll Bingo will feature songs from 1988 and songs about FIRE! 9 winners and all the prizes are cash! Check it out!
*trivial minds will want to know that grenadine is a pomegranate-based simple syrup!
